Monogram SVG: 15 Monogram Fonts for Cricut and Personalized Gifts
A monogram SVG font is an alphabet of cut files: every letter is its own SVG, ready to cut from vinyl, iron-on or cardstock. You upload the initials you need, arrange them and cut a personalized monogram for a tumbler, tote, shirt or wedding sign. Below are 15 monogram SVG fonts from Apex, grouped by style, with what each one looks like and what it suits best.
What Is a Monogram SVG Font?
Apex sells monogram fonts in two formats, and they work differently in Cricut Design Space:
- SVG letter fonts (the "Cuttable Font" products below). Each letter is a separate SVG file. You upload the letters as images and arrange them. They work in Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio and other cutting software, including the mobile apps.
- TrueType fonts (.ttf and .otf). You install the font on your computer once and type with it, like any other font. Example: the Hampton Monogram TrueType Font.
Every Apex SVG font downloads as a ZIP with SVG, DXF, EPS and PNG versions of the letters. Our tutorial on using Apex fonts in Cricut Design Space covers both formats in detail.
How to Choose a Monogram SVG Style
Circle and Block vs Script
Circle and block monograms have thick, even strokes. They cut and weed easily even at 2 inches, so they suit tumblers, keychains and car decals. Script and vine monograms look more elegant but have thinner lines, so give them more room: 3 inches or wider.
Three Letters, Split or Stacked
A traditional monogram has three initials. A split monogram has one large initial with a band across it for a name. A stacked or two-letter monogram works for couples, kids with short names or a small space.
With or Without a Frame
Framed fonts (shield, scallop, heart) have a border built in. Fonts without a frame can go inside any frame you choose. See how to put a monogram in a frame in Cricut Design Space.
Circle and Block Monogram SVG Fonts
- Natural Circle Round Cuttable Font: the classic circle monogram. The outer letters curve to follow the circle and the center letter is taller. It comes with left, center and right versions of each letter, so the initials lock together into one round shape.
- Scallop Circle Svg Monogram Cuttable Font: block letters inside a scalloped edge. The scallops add a preppy touch to coolers, totes and doormats.
- Heart Monogram Cuttable Font: block letters shaped into a heart. Use it for Valentine's Day, wedding favors and gifts for Mom. More heart ideas are in how to make a heart monogram in Cricut Design Space.
Elegant Script and Vine Monogram SVG Fonts
- Hampton Monogram Cuttable Font: tall, narrow serif letters with scrolled ends on the outer initials. It's a traditional look for wedding signs, linen napkins and pillows.
- The Charleston Monogram Cuttable Font: tall, ornate serif capitals with a vintage feel. It looks best large, on a sign or the front of a tote.
- Interlocking Vine Monogram Cuttable Font: flowing script letters with vine-like flourishes that weave into each other. Allow at least 3 inches so the thin swirls don't tear.
- Circle Curlz Monogram Cuttable Fonts: curly script letters that form a soft, rounded shape. It's a feminine choice for tumblers and makeup bags.
- Suzanne Curlz Cuttable Monogram Font: tall curly script. Instead of left, center and right letters, it uses a large uppercase letter in the center and smaller lowercase letters on the sides.
Framed Monogram SVG Fonts
- Royal Diamond Monogram Cuttable Font: three letters inside a diamond with decorative points at the top and bottom. It's a polished look for a car decal or a wine glass.
- Shield Monogram With Frames Cuttable Font: letters inside a shield frame, good for boys' shirts, sports gear and dorm decor.
Split Monogram and Name SVG Fonts
- Amber Monogram Split Cuttable Font: a large letter with a band across the middle for a last name. It suits family signs, wedding welcome boards and doormats.
- Wreath Split Cuttable Font: a letter and name band inside a laurel wreath. It adds an elegant frame without a second file.
Type the name in the band with any font, then Weld it to the letter so it cuts as one piece.
Stacked, Two-Letter and Playful Monogram SVG Fonts
- Four Letter Stacked Monogram Cuttable Font: four block letters stacked two over two inside a circle. Use it for a four-letter name, a couple's initials with a shared last initial or a business abbreviation.
- Isla Two-Letter Scallop Circle Monogram Cuttable Font: two letters inside a scalloped circle. It fits a couple, a pair of siblings or a small keychain.
- Spiral Monogram Cuttable Font: round, bouncy letters with spiral curls. A fun, kid-friendly style for backpacks and bedroom signs.

Monogram SVG Fonts vs Embroidery Monogram Fonts
Apex sells monogram fonts for cutting machines and for embroidery machines, and the files are not interchangeable. The SVG fonts on this page are cut files (SVG, DXF, EPS, PNG) for Cricut and Silhouette. Embroidery monogram fonts are stitch files (such as PES or DST) that tell an embroidery machine where to sew; a cutting machine can't use them. When you shop, make sure the product name says "Cuttable Font" or "SVG". If you also embroider, see our guide to choosing monogram embroidery fonts.
How to Arrange Initials in a Monogram
The most common convention for a three-letter personal monogram puts the first-name initial on the left, the last-name initial in the center (larger), and the middle initial on the right. Mary Ann Smith becomes M-S-A.
For couples, a common choice is the wife's first initial on the left, the shared last-name initial in the center and the husband's first initial on the right. When all letters are the same size, initials are usually written in order (MAS). Customs vary, so ask the recipient what they prefer.
Circle monogram fonts include separate left, center and right letters. Pick each initial from the right set, for example Left_M, Ctr_S and Right_A. The file names tell you which is which.
How to Upload and Size SVG Monogram Letters
- Unzip the font and open the SVG folder.
- In Design Space, upload the three letters you need. Each one is uploaded once and then stays in your uploads.
- Add them to the canvas, line them up with Align, then resize all three together so they stay in proportion.
- Overlap them slightly and Weld for a one-piece monogram, or Attach them if they shouldn't touch.

Monogram SVG FAQ
How are SVG fonts different from normal fonts?
A normal font is installed and typed. An SVG font is a set of image files, one per letter, that you upload and arrange. SVG fonts work in more programs, including the Cricut mobile app, while installed fonts give you faster typing on a computer.
Can I use monogram SVGs with vinyl?
Yes. Use permanent adhesive vinyl for hard surfaces like tumblers and signs, and iron-on vinyl for fabric. Mirror the design only for iron-on.
Can I sell items with these monograms?
Yes. Apex allows you to sell finished items made with its fonts. You may not resell or share the font files. See the FAQ.
What size should a monogram be?
About 2.5 to 3 inches for a tumbler, 3 to 4 inches for a shirt pocket area, 8 to 10 inches for a tote and 12 inches or more for a door sign. Choose bolder fonts for small sizes.
