Apex Embroidery Fonts Detector ("the extension") is a free browser extension that identifies the font used by any text you select on a web page. It was built by XTU Digital for Apex Embroidery Designs, and is distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data. The short version: it collects nothing.

What the extension collects

Nothing. The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell personal data, browsing history, page content, or any record of your activity.

Font detection happens entirely inside your own browser, using the standard window.getComputedStyle() method on the text you select. There is no server behind the extension, and nothing leaves your device.

What is stored on your device

One setting: whether font detection is currently switched on or off. It is kept with the browser's own chrome.storage.local API so the extension remembers your choice between sessions.

This value stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Permissions the extension requests

  • Storage — to remember the on/off setting described above.
  • Content script access to web pages — to read the font styling of the text you select.

No other permissions are requested. The extension loads no remote code and runs nothing it did not ship with.

Third parties

The extension does not integrate with, share data with, or transmit data to any third party, analytics service, or advertising network. Because it sends no data anywhere, there is nothing to share.
